Chuck Palahniuk interview & a wordy comment by yours, truly

What he says around minute 15:00 about living on Easy Street for the rest of your life is remarkably similar to the notion of the Cessation (or Defeat) of Suffering in Buddhism where one learns to not be overly hungry for things, one doesn't ignore or dismiss what is going on around them as entirely irrelevant to themselves, and one takes sensible action to achieving some sort of harmony in the world. If a body with brain not made of sock-like materials puts a touch of personal thought into it, it actually adds up neurologically for the average person, too. I mean, unless conditions like depression and anxiety are a result of harmony instead of a detractor from its chances of success ?
